Each of the Game Modes in Eternal Return has its own play style, rules and objectives.
Description[]
Players can select to be placed in a queue for one of two Game Modes:
- Lumia Island: This is a 24 man, team based Battle Royale mode where groups of 3 players fight for survival.
- Cobalt Protocol: This is a 4vs4 team deathmatch mode where players must try to lower the enemy team's points to 0 to win.
There is also the Ranked version of Lumia Island, a more competitive version which requires players to reach a certain Account level before they are allowed to queue in.
In addition, the game also features Practice modes, where any character can be selected and tested even if not unlocked, and a Tutorial course with 3 missions that teach the general basic mechanics of the game (clearing these missions will unlock 3 characters for free).
Players are also able to create Custom matches of Lumia Island and Cobalt Protocol with several different settings.
Game Mode Adjustment[]
To maintain balance between the different game modes, the game applies additional percentage buffs and nerfs to different character aspects (such as damage dealt, damage taken, shields applied, etc.) when playing Cobalt Protocol. These additional balance changes can be found under "Modifiers" in each character page.
