Battle Zone was a system in Eternal Return.
Description[]
Battle Zones were special areas purposefully made for battle in Lumia Island. Each Battle Zone had a special environment. Some would increase statistics like movement speed, some increased Omnisyphon effects, and others provide a recharging shield. Here, players were able to (somewhat) safely fight to the death, with the winning team receiving special Epic rarity materials.
Among the predicted locations of Night 2's restricted areas, some would be chosen as Battle Zones. The type of Battle Zone could be checked via the Battle Zone Mark on the World Map Security Console Location.
When the Battle Zone began, the test subjects in the area became Battle Zone participants. If a participant died in the Battle Zone, they were able to revive outside the zone after a short period of time. However, players couldn't rejoin a Battle Zone after reviving. If a test subject tried to enter or leave a Battle Zone, they would immediately die without the ability to revive.
Details[]
Battle Zone Mark[]
The Battle Zone Mark symbolized the unique environment and gave special effects to participants. If a participant died, the Battle Zone Mark could be used as currency for the winning team to purchase rewards. If there is no winning team, the recovered Battle Zone Marks were permanently removed.
The different battle zone types were:
- Berserk (Swords): All test subjects gain 20% Omnisyphon and their final damage dealt is increased by 25%.
- Defense (Shield): All test subjects gain a 300 health Shield after 2 seconds.
- Acceleration (Boot): All test subjects gain 20% Movement Speed and 20% Cooldown Reduction (limited by Cooldown Reduction Cap).
Corrosion Gauge[]
In the Battle Zone, the Corrosion Gauge would accumulate in return for strengthening test subjects' abilities. The maximum amount of Corrosion was 100. Test subjects who maxed out their Corrosion Gauge would die after 8 seconds. Corrosion Gauge could be recovered with Corrosion Stabilizers or by killing other test subjects (40 corrosion removed).
Battle Zone Shuttles[]
In the Battle Zone, two types of shuttles would spawn: one intact and one damaged.
- The intact shuttle moved along a designated route, releasing a corrosion stabilizer in a 5m radius around it, reducing corrosion by 4 per second.
- The damaged shuttle would explode after a time, releasing a corrossion freeze buff in a 15m radius around it instead.
Battle Zone Rewards[]
The last team standing in a Battle Zone was declared the winner (in the event only one team was in the zone, they would have won automatically). The zone would immediatelly become a Restricted Area, but the winning team would be able to safely move in it until the next time shift.
One player on the winning team would be able to select one of the following items:
Some of the rewards required a minimum number of test subjects to have participated in the Battle Zone for them to be redeemable:
- Tree of Life: At least 1 test subject
- Meteorite: At least 1 test subject
- Tac. Skill Module: At least 1 test subject
- Mythril: At least 4 test subjects
- Force Core: At least 7 test subjects
